DVB-T in Hungary


Free to air DVB-T services in Hungary are introduced under the brand MinDigTv. The national Frequency Authority issued tenders for 5 TV (4 DVB-T and 1 DVB-H) and 1 radio (T-DAB) multiplex. From the 5 TV multiplexes 2 will be available after the analog switch-off. Both tenders were won by Antenna Hungária. Antenna Hungária is a key participant in the Hungarian telecommunication sector. Its core activities include national land television and radio broadcasting and distribution, as well as satellite broadcasting and distribution. According to the tender requirements Antenna Hungária has to ensure and operate the STB distribution. Broadcasting started in December 2008. Currently there are 7 free to air channels, 3 HD channels and 3 radio stations on the DVB-T platform.


Hungarian Multiplex A Transport Stream Analysis

Multiplex 1Hungarian MUX A is operated by the Antenna Hungária company. MUX A is partialy free-to-air (m1 and m2) and partialy scrambled (ATV, HirTV). m1 and m2 are Hungarian television channels operated by Magyar Televízió, a Hungarian national public service television company. Hungarian Multiplex C Transport Stream Analysis

Multiplex 1Hungarian MUX C is operated by the Antenna Hungária company. MUX C is FTA and carries 7 channels in MPEG-4 AVC format: DUNA HD, Autonomia, RTL Klub, TV2 and Euronews in English, French and German language. DUNA is broadcasted in HD while other chanels are SD.
