This was supposed to be my homepage. Unfortunately, here you won't get much information about me. Instead of this you can take a look at some cool software I wrote, pictures of transmitting sites I have visited and other stuff related to my hobbies.

Here you can also find some information about digital terrestrial television in Slovenia and analysis of some DVB-T MPEG transport streams I have captured some time ago when I was visiting the country or were contributed by other people interested in digital terrestrial television. Slovenian terrestrial multiplexes are captured and analyzed every 30 minutes.

Dobratsch

DobratschThe Dobratsch (also Villacher Alpe, Slovenian: Dobrač) is a 2166 m high mountain in Carinthia (located west of the city Villach) above the green meadows of the "Villacher Alpe". It is Carinthia's best vantage point thanks to its exposed position between the Drau and Gail Valleys, the southern Limestone Alps and the mountain glaciers on the edge of the Carinthian lake plateau. The Dobratsch owes its distinctive form to the two greatest landslides in the eastern Alps.
Two earthquakes released a total of 530 million cubic meters of rock over an area of 12 kilometers from the southern flank of the Dobratsch, burying the lower Gail Valley down to a depth of 80 meters. This area is appropriately named "Schütt" (detritus).

PohorjePlešivec transmitting site is located on the top of mountain called Uršlja gora at 1700 m above sea level. 100m lower on the slope lies a 400 years old church which is also the highest church in Slovenia. Because of excellent geographic location the Plešivec transmitting site covers a large part of the Koroška region and north-eastern part of Slovenia.

The first tower was constructed in 1962 when the first 100 W RCA TV transimitter and 250 W BHG FM radio transmitter were installed.

Free Ad Inserter Wordpress Plugin

A simple but powerful free Wordpress plugin that enables you to insert any HTML/Javascript/PHP code in posts or display it as a widget. It is perfect for displaying AdSense or Amazon ads at any position. You can put up to 16 ad blocks.

For each block you can choose where and how it will be displayed: before selected post paragraph, before random post paragraph, before content, after content or as a widget. You can also select paragraph counting direction and float type. I wrote this plugin because none of the existing solutions had the options I wanted. On of the very powerful features of this plugin is the ability to insert post category or post tags into the ad code. This way you can create contextual ads where you have the ability to target specific category or products (e.g. Amazon Search Widget).

You can also test different versions of the same ad. Together with ad tracking this can be useful to find out which ad type performs best.

Turbo51 - free Pascal compiler for 8051

Why I wrote Turbo51 - Pascal compiler for 8051 microcontrollres

The majority of computer systems in use today are embedded in other machinery, such as automobiles, telephones, appliances, and peripherals for computer systems. These are called embedded systems. An embedded system is a special-purpose computer system designed to perform one or a few dedicated functions, often with real-time computing constraints. It is usually embedded as part of a complete device including hardware and mechanical parts. In contrast, a general-purpose computer, such as a personal computer, can do many different tasks depending on programming. Embedded systems control many of the common devices in use today.
