DVB-T in Austria


Austrian DVB-T and DVB-H networks are operated by the ORS which is the leading provider of broadcasting services in Austria. As a subsidiary of ORF and Medicur (Raiffeisen Group), ORS supports national and international radio and television producers, and provides locations for use by mobile network operators, authorities and for directional transmissions. DVB-T was launched on 26 October 2006. The transition to DVB-T is performed gradually in nine provincial areas. By now most of the analog television transmitters are already switched off.
